Where were you when Michael Jackson died???

Michael Jackson passed away yesterday, as you well know by now. We were so shocked that it took me a whole day to get a blog out about it. 

I was just about to watch a DVD of his when my sister texted me that The King of Pop died. I didn't believe her, so I put on the news... there it was "Michael Jackson dead at 50" WOW

WOW WOW My mouth dropped and the shock hit.

How can Michael Jackson die??? He was legendary already in life! He was immortal. He was magical. He was everything that any true performer wanted to be.... and he died?!

I just watched all the news that I could from 2ish until 8pm... I watched how they flew his body from the UCLA Medical Center to the Coroners office. Once I saw them carry out his body, I broke down. I couldn't contain my tears.

I woke up this morning thinking.... If Michael is dead.... he's the last great performer we had. Who will be our generation's icon? Beyonce?! (don't get it twisted, I love Beyonce.... but seriously)

MUSICIANS OUT THERE!!!! READ MY WORDS!!!! STRIVE FOR MORE THAN WHATS ON THE RADIO!!!! LOOK INTO YOURSELF AND PUT YOURSELF ON AN ALBUM!!!!! PUT REAL MUSIC OUT THERE!!!! Not a song about "Birthday Sex"

PLEASE! Strive for more just like Michael did. He grabbed from the best... James Brown, Diana Ross, etc and put on a show that made KISS look like a small picnic... He invented a new dance! Not the "Stanky leg" The MOONWALK.... with class, grace, dignity..... 

You can go anywhere in the world and you might not know how to say HI in their native language... but you said Michael Jackson and they would nod in comprehension.

This is our generation's Elvis.

Such a huMONGOUS loss. 

In his honor, we will not be working on any music.

We'll keep you posted of course.......

Started work early....

So, usually we work on tracks during the weekend but "Song For You" is taking such an awesome shape that we couldn't wait. So here we are on a Tuesday laying the real bass tracks down. IT SOUNDS SO GOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Imagine a track that without any drums or bells or whistles... it sounds done. THATS HOW GOOD THE SONG SOUNDS! Can't wait to share it to you guys!

!!! I can't contain my excitement!!!!!

Ok, I'm overly excited b/c we're still on "Song For You" and it's finally taking shape! The guitars are laid down and so is the piano.... Johnny is (as I type) plugging in the bass and about to lay the bass track down! OOOOO Joy!

I'm being a lil corny but it's so exciting! If your a musician and you are working on a project you TRULY love.... you know the butterflies! ;)

I'm probably gonna be keeping you updated on the progress... unless I'm laying vocals down... then, you'll just wait =)

BTW! Thanks to everyone that's left a comment! We truly appreciate them =)

Song For You

The time has come! The hit! We're beginning to break ground with our hit song, " Song For You". Today is historic, Johnny Matrik has begun laying the acoustic guitar down on the song. This is historic.

It sounds ear-gasmic with the PreSonus Pre-Amp.... ::Sighs:: so wonderful....

New addition!

Ahhhh! Good news! We just added a new machine to the family! We got a new pre-amp for the vocals! Presonus Eureka!!!!!! EXACTLY! EUREKA! How awesome huh??? OOOO! I can't wait till summer time starts and school lets out and we can lay vocals down! The album will be done in NO time! yeay!
